Characters

 

These are the main characters:

 

Arusa Din: 

 

One of the Shipley Five.  When Arusa touches the crystal, she is destined to have powers in Osiris.  Arusa picks up the Emerald bracelet which turns her into the Jade Queen, as well as a healing cloak.   With her new found powers, comes her understanding of the Jades and their language.  Within Arusa’s new powers, is her ability to put an end to the Siren Queen, but will she be able to harness her powers to the full before Selwa the Vinx reaches hers?

Asif Din: 

 

One of the Shipley Five.  Asif arrived in the Hallway of Worlds with Matthew, who he regards as his best friend.  Asif feels that they have a purpose in Osiris from the beginning and begins to suspect it could be to repair the Heart of Osiris, although his first attempt at the device fails.  Asif is entrusted with the task to enlist the Eli into battle, despite their stubborn stance of non compliance in worldly affairs. Will Asif be able to succeed in enlisting the Eli, after previous failures and will he be able to rise to the challenge of leading the War Council in their most dangerous campaign in confronting the treacherous Dark Lords?

 

Lisa the Great Red Queen: 

 

One of the Shipley Five.  Lisa touches the crystal at the same time as Arusa and Muneeb, when the crystal sends her to the Hallway of Worlds.  She chose a Red Ruby bracelet without knowing it was the powerful heirloom of the Great Red Queen.  She also finds the Food Tree, which the children are delighted to discover can provide them with lavish helpings of any food they desire, including cheeseburgers, fish and chips, tortillas and fruit.  Having experienced two attacks from the Damned on arrival in the dark world, she is pulled under the spell of the beating Ithfirian Drums along with the rest of the children and finds herself being asked to become the Great Red Queen.  It is a seductive offer which Lisa finds she is happy to accept, but something is not right in the Ithfirian Royal Court.  Can Lisa discover this in time to save her friends, or will the war exact a heavy price?  Lisa has little control over the Great Red Queen and as well as having to learn how to assert her control, she finds her personal attention drifting on another member of the Royal Court (Coming of the Dark King).

 

Matthew Banks: 

 

One of the Shipley Five.  Matthew is a caring boy who has his mind preoccupied with his ill mother before he touches the crystal.  He believes his father is dead, when he went MIA at the scene of a bomb in the Middle East.  Matthew discovers he has feelings for Arusa. When an expedition is suggested to retrieve her from Dazukh Fort, he steps up to the challenge.  Can Matthew save her in time from Dark Lord Grakh, even though he is severely injured?  In time, Matthew will realise he has a very important part to play in the future of Osiris, as well as the war against the Dark King.

 

Muneeb Din:

 

One of the five.   Muneeb is the youngest of the five, who finds the crystal and enters the Hallway of Worlds, instantly deciphering  all the languages written on the walls and the doorways.  Muneeb’s gift is his understanding and fluency of the alien language which he translates for the others.  Muneeb chose a magical silver bow which propels ice arrows at the pull of the string, as well as a water carrier which becomes pivotal in their efforts to defeat the nine Dark Lords.  He likes Matthew and accepts his relationship with his sister without a second thought.  The young kildana quickly becomes friends with the Daraan and everyone he meets.  Watch out for later sequels: Unfortunately, a dark plot is hatched from the confines of the evil Barda and Muneeb finds himself in a very dark scheme indeed!
